Iowa’s Big Ten football opener and homecoming game Sept. 27 against Northwestern will kick off at 11 a.m., the school announced Monday.

The Hawkeyes’ Oct. 4 trip to Michigan State also will be an 11 a.m. game. Both will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or the Big Ten Network with TV plans to be announced six or 12 days in advance of each game. The Nov. 22 game between Iowa and Minnesota at the Metrodome in Minneapolis is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. and will be televised on the Big Ten Network, according to the BTN's Web site.

Iowa plays four of five games at home to open the season, starting Aug. 30 against Maine.

" To you Joe, I send only my regrets that you cannot get the Big Ten Network through the local cable companies. I can only say that between my dish here in Colorado and ESPN I-II I have not only enjoyed NOT missing any football games but also have seen basketball (men-women), gymnastics, wrestling, swimming, softball and baseball of my Hawkeyes. Thank goodness for recording so I have the time to watch at my leisure!!!! Good luck getting Mediacom on board with this great luxury. "

" This is no lucky guess when I say that I wont be watching any games when they are on the BIG TEN NETWORK,I have Mediacom at this time and Im pretty sure that these two companies have not reached any agreement yet,I pray that I am wrong!! GOOD LUCK TO THE HAWKEYES this coming season:).... JOE "
